25th Anniversary of the Dúbravček Children’s Folklore Ensemble Reprise: Every Craft Has a Golden Foundation

This anniversary program showcases traditional crafts once practiced in the village of Plevník-Drienové. Through a playful storyline, members of the ensemble bring six traditional trades to life. At first, the girls debate which craft is the most precious and important. As the story unfolds, they realize that every single trade is essential to everyday life. In the end, everyone agrees that every craft is truly worth its weight in gold and that they all depend on one another. The trades featured in the program are blacksmith, tinker, tailor, shoemaker, cook, and miller. A live children’s folk music band accompanies all the singing and dancing throughout the show, featuring a total of 80 young performers and musicians.
